Editorial Policy – Vulnerability Assurance

Our editorial purpose

Vulnerability Assurance publishes practical analysis of government cybersecurity reporting. The aim is to explain what a vulnerability means, how it can be mitigated, and how an organization can verify the outcome.

More than a rewritten summary

Articles use our own structure and wording and add useful defensive analysis. They should address applicability, corrective actions, verification, and residual risk rather than simply paraphrase an advisory or send readers to a source directory.

Evidence and attribution

Material factual claims require supporting primary-source citations. Distinguish confirmed exploitation from theoretical exploitability, source instructions from our recommendations, and a deployed fix from a verified result. Do not invent validation results or imply that we tested a system we have not assessed.

Review and corrections

Articles are selected for direct relevance, checked against cited primary sources, and structured according to the type of security development being covered. Source dates and publication dates are shown separately.

Commercial context

Articles may include an assessment request. Coverage of a vulnerability does not by itself establish that a reader is affected or needs a paid service.

Historical archive dates

Historical posts are assigned a displayed WordPress date three days after the source publication date to organize the archive. This assigned date does not mean this website published the analysis at that time. The source date and the actual publication date are retained in the article’s editorial note. For CISA KEV records, the source date is catalog inclusion, not necessarily the original vulnerability disclosure. Current reporting retains its actual publication date.
